Ag initiatives net $1.8M in provincial resources

Just in time for Canada’s Agriculture Working day, the provincial authorities shipped some welcome information for the 2023 Northern Ontario Ag Meeting, taking place in Sudbury Feb. 15-16.

The Northern Ontario Farm Innovation Alliance (NOFIA) is the receiver of $15,000 to support hosting responsibilities for the event, which is the first in-person occasion of its type to be held considering the fact that 2020.

“The agri-food business proceeds to have a very important job in supporting the wellness and prosperity of our northern communities,” Northern Improvement Minister Greg Rickford claimed in a Feb. 15 news release.

NOFIA is one of 10 recipients that will share in $1.8 million from the provincial funding company. The jobs awarded are expected to “boost nearby meals creation, build positions, and promote enlargement and diversification in the northern agri-food sector,” according to the province.
